I hate the experience of getting work done and then watching everything crash to an abrupt halt when the power flickers or goes out completely. It was awesome when I got a backup power supply... until another power outage made me realize I had no internet access and thus couldn't resume the data downloads I'd had running. At least I was able to properly save the programs I'd been writing! Working essentially alone because everyone around me didn't have backup power was a bit lonely, though.
